Course of Legal History 2018 – Italian Criminal Law: Key-Elements in Contemporary History (1861-1948)
Last April, the 2018 edition of the traditional Course of Legal History promoted by Ius Commune took place. This year, the event entitled “Italian Criminal Law: Key-Elements in Contemporary History (1861-1948)”, aimed to discuss fundamental aspects of italian liberal and fascist criminal law and procedure, in order to deepen this historical-legal theme.
The conferences were taught by Professor Luigi Lacchè, from the Università degli Studi di Macerata, and had interventions by the invited Professor Rafael Mafei (USP) and Professor Ricardo Sontag (UFMG), as well as the coordinators of the group Professor Arno Dal Ri Jr. and Professor Diego Nunes. During the three days of the event, participants were able to analyze the Italian system of Criminal Law and its liberal roots from state unification (1861-1889), discuss the developments and conflicts of the Italian system of Criminal Law and the social issue (1876-1919); and rediscuss the fascist system of Italian criminal law from a long-running critique (1925-1945).
